I quickly came to the painful realization that the backplate provided with the cooler doesn't meet the new board's dimensions, staying only a few millimeters off (so close!).Ĭonsidering that the motherboard comes with a stock backplate, would the Evo be safe to install? While doing some searching, I saw that the Evo's excessive weight would cause warping/damage to the motherboard without the proper backplate. However, in my haste, I forgot to check the backplate's compatibility with my new board. Looking to transfer my Evo from my last build, I ordered the AM4 mounting kit from Cooler Master. A couple months ago, I built my lovely Ryzen PC, going from an LGA 1150 board with a Hyper 212 Evo to a B350 PC MATE AM4 board with a wraith spire cooler. ![]()
